1 Age

  • 1. From an early age I didn't buy into the value systems of working hard in a nine-to-five job. I thought creativity friendship and loyalty and pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable was much more interesting.
  • 2. You get to a certain age where you prepare yourself for happiness. Sometimes you never remember to actually get happy.

2 Amazing

  • 2. And then we watched an amazing number of movies from the late '60s and '70s which is my favorite time and we studied their camera movements their stocks the way they lit stuff the colors they used.
  • 3. When it's over I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement. I was the bridegroom taking the world into my arms.

3 Anger

  • 1. The ignorant mind with its infinite afflictions passions and evils is rooted in the three poisons. Greed anger and delusion.
  • 2. Anger is a killing thing: it kills the man who angers for each rage leaves him less than he had been before – it takes something from him.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Love grows more tremendously full swift poignant as the years multiply.
  • 2. Mom and Dad were married 64 years. And if you wondered what their secret was you could have asked the local florist – because every day Dad gave Mom a rose which he put on her bedside table. That's how she found out what happened on the day my father died – she went looking for him because that morning there was no rose.
  • 3. That there's no more important decision in life than who you marry.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Information and inspiration are everywhere… history art architecture everything an illustrator needs. Europe is after all the land that has generated most of the enduring myths and legends of Western culture.
  • 2. What people want above all is order.
  • 3. Proportions are what makes the old Greek temples classic in their beauty. They are like huge blocks from which the air has been literally hewn out between the columns.
