3 Anger

  • 1. Violence is a problem we all want to solve. I want to make sure that kids learn to deal with anger by learning how to talk with people to solve problems. Here in the United States Senate I want to make sure we have safe schools safe neighborhoods and good things for kids to do after school!
  • 2. Anger has a way of seeping into every other emotion and planting itself in there.
  • 3. I did not think that I was angry but clearly anger was reflected in my writing. I did not think that I had been affected emotionally but it was clear from my writing that I was still very emotional about the trial some six months after it ended.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. The London games mark the 24th anniversary of my winning two golds and setting the world record in the heptathlon. Someone is going to want it records are made to be broken – it's only a matter of time. I hope mine will outlive me.
  • 2. I didn't make my first solo record until 1981 so I don't have any 60's or 70's recordings but I am working on a large boxed set called DUST to be released next year the 20th anniversary of my first solo record.
  • 3. The concept of two people living together for 25 years without a serious dispute suggests a lack of spirit only to be admired in sheep.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture is invention.
  • 2. Bridges are perhaps the most invisible form of public architecture.
  • 3. Art is very tricky because it's what you do for yourself. It's much harder for me to make those works than the monuments or the architecture.
