I am not opposed to intelligence reform on its face but any changes should reflect the current context.

It is not government's job to mandate responsibility on our behalf. We have the intelligence and good sense to make wise consumption choices for ourselves and our children. It is up to us to do what is best for our health and our children's health.

1 Age

  • 1. The older I grow the more I distrust the familiar doctrine that age brings wisdom.

2 Amazing

  • 1. And I thought when I have kids that's the sort of well told silly and fun fairy tale that I would want to take them to. But it was an amazing experience. And I think Shrek is a real classic a fairy tale classic.
  • 2. The body is an amazing machine… If you eat the right things your body will perform incredibly well!
  • 3. My parents were amazing people who had no business being together – and they knew it.

3 Anger

  • 1. If a small thing has the power to make you angry does that not indicate something about your size?
  • 2. We are losing sight of civility in government and politics. Debate and dialogue is taking a back seat to the politics of destruction and anger and control. Dogma has replaced thoughtful discussion between people of differing views.
  • 3. Discussion is an exchange of knowledge an argument an exchange of ignorance.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. See the 'On the Road' that came out in 1957 was censored. A lot of the honesty of it the bitter honesty is in the original scroll version that came out in 2007 on the 50-year anniversary. Back then there was so much post-Second World War fear that was imposed on everybody – 'You must live life this way' – and these guys were bored.
  • 2. Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years.
  • 3. Since I wrote to you last we have got our chapel beautifully lighted with gas and have had our anniversary.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Does it follow that the house has nothing in common with art and is architecture not to be included in the arts? Only a very small part of architecture belongs to art: the tomb and the monument. Everything else that fulfils a function is to be excluded from the domain of art.
  • 2. I mean certainly writing painting photography dance architecture there is an aspect of almost every art form that is useful and that merges into film in some way.
  • 3. Until the Eighties Oslo was a rather boring town but it's changed a lot and is now much more cosmopolitan. If I go downtown I visit the harbour to see the tall ships and the ferries and to admire the modern architecture such as the Opera House or the new Astrup Fearnley Museum on the water's edge.
