I am not opposed to intelligence reform on its face but any changes should reflect the current context.

  • 1. I was living on the wrong side of the tracks in Evanston Illinois in a home for boys. We had these Jackson 5 records. I really related to their voices – they were about my age but they were doing it.

So I'm naturally accustomed to putting myself into the headspace of a girl who can take care of herself.

2 Amazing

  • 1. When I was trying to impress Kate I was trying to cook these amazing fancy dinners and what would happen was I would burn something something would overspill something would catch on fire and she would be sitting in the background trying to help and basically taking control of the whole situation so I was quite glad she was there at the time.
  • 2. It's just amazing to do something that's part of a pop culture phenomenon.

3 Anger

  • 1. My recipe for dealing with anger and frustration: set the kitchen timer for twenty minutes cry rant and rave and at the sound of the bell simmer down and go about business as usual.

But to see that Africans are the hardest hit by climate change even though they generate almost no greenhouse gas is a glaring injustice which also triggers anger and outrage over those who seek to ignore it.
  • 3. Don't get the impression that you arouse my anger. You see one can only be angry with those he respects.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Love is not weakness. It is strong. Only the sacrament of marriage can contain it.
  • 2. The chances of a reunion now are less likely. I was thinking of having a 40th anniversary of the band but now they are really another band so it's all a bit weird.
  • 3. Marriage is the most natural state of man and… the state in which you will find solid happiness.

5 Architecture

  • 1. The British political system and the whole clapped out Westminster architecture and the language that we use about politics it's completely unsustainable. You either decide to be part of that transition to do something different. Or you cling to old certainties.
  • 2. I've always liked traveling around Europe and seeing the architecture. The buildings in capital cities have been there for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years. Some look better than the new ones.
  • 3. But those musics do not address the larger kind of architecture in time that classical music does whatever each one of us knows that classical music must mean.
