I try not to put anything political on the forefront of what I'm trying to do creatively. At the same time I do think it's wonderful when I hear people say that it's inspirational that I'm an Indian woman on camera. My life is very diverse and my friends are a diverse group of people.

I do love to eavesdrop. It's inspirational not only for subject matter but for actual dialogue the way people talk.

To me the Seventies were very inspirational and very influential… With my whole persona as Snoop Dogg as a person as a rapper. I just love the Seventies style the way all the players dressed nice you know kept their hair looking good drove sharp cars and they talked real slick.

1 Age

  • 1. Age is a very high price to pay for maturity.
  • 2. Here comes 40. I'm feeling my age and I've ordered the Ferrari. I'm going to get the whole mid-life crisis package.
  • 3. With the song 'This Christmas' I wanted to do something that was kind of different. I mean Donny Hathaway is an amazing artist. So I wanted to bring my flavor to the song so when people over the age of 45 or 50 hear it they'll be like 'OK he did his thing with that record.' It's like I can appeal to everybody and not just a younger demographic.

2 Amazing

  • 1. Every now and then I have blissful moments of thanking God for all the amazing things that are happening. When I leave the White House after just meeting Obama or when I see my face on the cover of 'Rolling Stone' or when I meet someone who tells me that their daughter is inspired by me those are moments that are incredibly joyful.
  • 2. Despite the amazing diversity we're blessed with in this country schools are still in large part segregated because of economic disparity. Sports are one of the few areas where kids are really given the opportunity to interact with those of different races and religions.
  • 3. My whole family actually but my parents. I had such a normal and amazing childhood. I've been so lucky. My parents are cool and normal. They don't talk about the business and I still have stuff to do at their house.

3 Anger

  • 1. To talk about balance it's easier to talk about what's out of balance. And I think anytime that you have any disease and disease meaning lack of ease lack of flow… dis-ease. So any time there's disease you're out of balance whether it's jealousy anger greed anxiety fear.
  • 2. Acting in anger and hatred throughout my life I frequently precipitated what I feared most the loss of friendships and the need to rely upon the very people I'd abused.
  • 3. Keep cool anger is not an argument.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. I am so excited this year getting to play the 85th Anniversary Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Everyone knows on Thanksgiving morning to get up turn on the TV and watch the parade so to be an actual participant is going to be fun and I'm looking forward to it. I am gonna have to put on my deer hunting gear though to stay warm!
  • 2. The day before the anniversary of D-Day we lost a man who was equaled by few and surpassed by none as a leader in the cause of freedom: Ronald Reagan.
  • 3. I was always very grateful to 'em and am grateful to 'em now. I went back a couple of years ago and did their 20th anniversary show. But the longer I stayed on Hee Haw the worse things got for me musically.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Escape from the architecture ghetto is one of the major drivers and has been from the very beginning.
  • 2. But I feel truly wowed by the architecture and the meaning of the architecture if you get lost in it and think about the man hours in the smallest little chapel and the love involved. God it's fantastic.
  • 3. You look at the steamboat the railroad the car the airplane – not all of these were invented in the Anglo-American world but they were popularized and extended by it. They were made possible by the financial architecture the capital intensive operations invented and developed by the Anglo-Americans.
