I never felt totally 100% patriotically English… I'd seen a lot of the world by an early age – sort of spent a lot of time traveling around Lebanon and I'd seen Babylon and Damascus and all sorts of places in the Middle East by the time I was ten. Then we'd return to Ruslip in West London… Done a fair bit of traveling really.
  • 2. My justification is that most people my age spend a lot of time thinking about what they're going to do for the next five or ten years. The time they spend thinking about their life I just spend drinking.

2 Amazing

3 Anger

4 Anniversary

  • 1. We can't forget what happened on May 4th 1970 when four students gave up their lives because they had the American constitutional right of peaceful protest. They gave up their lives. And to sing that song in that spot on that anniversary was very emotional for us.
  • 2. Last week the House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring the victims and heroes of September 11th. As we commemorate the anniversary of 9-11 we must also remember that the threat is still very real today.
  • 3. I was always very grateful to 'em and am grateful to 'em now. I went back a couple of years ago and did their 20th anniversary show. But the longer I stayed on Hee Haw the worse things got for me musically.

5 Architecture

  • 1. To me a building – if it's beautiful – is the love of one man he's made it out of his love for space materials things like that.
  • 2. Technological considerations are of great importance to architecture and cities in the informational society.
  • 3. Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.
