1 Age

  • 1. I'm well past the age where I'm acceptable. You get to a certain age and you are forbidden access. You're not going to get the kind of coverage that you would like in music magazines you're not going to get played on radio and you're not going to get played on television. I have to survive on word of mouth.
  • 2. Age is not measured by years. Nature does not equally distribute energy. Some people are born old and tired while others are going strong at seventy.
  • 3. I vividly remember being 14. That was the age when I started to get happy: I started being a writer and stopped being a loser.

2 Amazing

  • 1. For the last 20 years of my life I've had the mantra to do amazing parts with amazing people in amazing projects so I'm attracted to good story writing and character and good people. That's what I'm always searching for and I don't think that's ever going to change.
  • 2. Stevie Wonder is just one of those guys that completely delivers everything that you want to be true about Stevie Wonder. He's an amazing human being and the fairytale exists with that man.
  • 3. I decided to give acting a serious committed try and soon after I read the script for 'Lovely and Amazing.' The story was beautiful and honest and the characters struggled with the same insecurities many women – including me – face. I didn't think I had a chance in hell of being in the film but I knew I had to go for it.

3 Anger

  • 1. I'm not angry I'm not an angry person but I do sometimes like playing with the perception of anger as in pretending that I'm more angry than I actually am and sometimes it works quite well.
  • 2. When anger rushes unrestrained to action like a hot steed it stumbles on its way. The man of thought strikes deepest and strikes safely.
  • 3. The quickest way to defuse fear or insecurity or anger is usually humor. I think comics figure that out quickly and once you figure it out you think 'Hey if I can do this and get paid that would be kind of cool.'

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Both the Obama and Romney campaigns said they pulled all their political ads today in observance of the September 11th anniversary. But politics wasn't very far offstage. The Obama campaign sees foreign policy as an advantage this year.
  • 2. Mom and Dad were married 64 years. And if you wondered what their secret was you could have asked the local florist – because every day Dad gave Mom a rose which he put on her bedside table. That's how she found out what happened on the day my father died – she went looking for him because that morning there was no rose.
  • 3. One should believe in marriage as in the immortality of the soul.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Architecture can't fully represent the chaos and turmoil that are part of the human personality but you need to put some of that turmoil into the architecture or it isn't real.
  • 2. All those involved in the construction of an architectural design from the architect to the builder have an attachment to the architecture although it's difficult to quantify the attachment.
  • 3. You look at the steamboat the railroad the car the airplane – not all of these were invented in the Anglo-American world but they were popularized and extended by it. They were made possible by the financial architecture the capital intensive operations invented and developed by the Anglo-Americans.
