  • 1. In order to fix Social Security we must restructure it so that we continue to provide for our Nation's seniors that are approaching retirement age but allow for younger taxpayers to invest a portion of their Social Security taxes in private accounts.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. I think you have to be willing to take a bullet for somebody if you're going to stand up there take your vows and be married to them for the rest of your life.
  • 2. The heart of marriage is memories and if the two of you happen to have the same ones and can savor your reruns then your marriage is a gift from the gods.
  • 3. We are not the same persons this year as last nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we changing continue to love a changed person.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Does it follow that the house has nothing in common with art and is architecture not to be included in the arts? Only a very small part of architecture belongs to art: the tomb and the monument. Everything else that fulfils a function is to be excluded from the domain of art.
  • 2. The work of art shows people new directions and thinks of the future. The house thinks of the present.
  • 3. So what we have tried to do in our later buildings is to try to be completely consistent as a painter is consistent or as a sculptor is consistent. Architecture also must be very consistent.
