  • 1. Maybe back in the day you didn't need to be the greatest looking to be on TV and you didn't need to speak the best but in this day and age I think you need to be the package. You need to look the part for your sponsors you need to be able to speak the part for the media and to big CEOs.

2 Amazing

  • 1. At that time I had recently finished a book called Amazing Grace which many people tell me is a very painful book to read. Well if it was painful to read it was also painful to write. I had pains in my chest for two years while I was writing that book.
  • 2. I think for business reasons fiscal reasons I think these cable networks can take greater risks and I think with a risk comes better programming. And I think USA has got an amazing identity to it now that is clearly defined with its 'Characters welcome' tag.

3 Anger

  • 1. On banks I make no apology for attacking spivs and gamblers who did more harm to the British economy than Bob Crow could achieve in his wildest Trotskyite fantasies while paying themselves outrageous bonuses underwritten by the taxpayer. There is much public anger about banks and it is well deserved.
  • 2. People are unjust to anger – it can be enlivening and a lot of fun.
  • 3. People are always angry at America. They're absolutely certain that America either caused their problems or is deliberately not fixing their problems. But the anger is always directed at America and never at Americans.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. It is a matter of public shame that while we have now commemorated our hundredth anniversary not one in every ten children attending Public schools throughout the colonies is acquainted with a single historical fact about Australia.
  • 2. You marry somebody you love everything about them. You grow to learn about them. You never learn everything.
  • 3. There is no more lovely friendly and charming relationship communion or company than a good marriage.

5 Architecture

  • 1. My passion and great enjoyment for architecture and the reason the older I get the more I enjoy it is because I believe we – architects – can effect the quality of life of the people.
