Where globalization means as it so often does that the rich and powerful now have new means to further enrich and empower themselves at the cost of the poorer and weaker we have a responsibility to protest in the name of universal freedom. 1 We live in a land like no other – a land of freedom and opportunity unparalleled on the face of the globe.
2 We've got to understand that the whole nature of the way American democracy guards its freedom has been changed.
3 When public access to voting is impaired or when public confidence in voting is diluted democracy suffers and our freedom is less secure.
