1 Age

  • 1. I've been going through photos of my mother looking back on her life and trying to put it into context. Very few people age gracefully enough to be photographed through their aging.
  • 2. High expectations weren't nurtured in my neck of nowhere back then – children weren't fawned over from an early age as 'gifted' and groomed for a prizewinning future self-esteem was considered something you had to pick from the garden yourself.
  • 3. Age is not a particularly interesting subject. Anyone can get old. All you have to do is live long enough.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I remember the first time I felt that I was sharing the stage with someone spectacular was dancing with Beyonce. It was the dancers the band Beyonce and me in front of thousands of people. That was sick. It was pretty amazing that I got to travel the world with someone like her.
  • 2. I am also hugely excited to then be competing to defend my three Paralympic titles at the Paralympic Games. I believe we will see some amazing times posted and I am very much looking forward to what will be an incredible Olympics and Paralympics in London.
  • 3. I think women are amazing and women's friendships are like a sisterhood and we should see more of it in television and film.

3 Anger

  • 1. Revenge is often like biting a dog because the dog bit you.
  • 2. I've always turned my anger inwards towards self-destruction.
  • 3. I've learned that football sometimes was an outlet. It was a way for me to release anger release frustration.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. My last trip to New Orleans was for the fifth anniversary of Katrina and I had the awesome opportunity to bring my family down. We all worked on a house together and met some of the families.
  • 2. There is no more lovely friendly and charming relationship communion or company than a good marriage.
  • 3. The chances of a reunion now are less likely. I was thinking of having a 40th anniversary of the band but now they are really another band so it's all a bit weird.

5 Architecture

  • 1. The same sort of thing happened in my dispute with the National Trust book: Follies: A National Trust Guide which implied that the only pleasure you can get from Folly architecture is by calling the architect mad and by laughing at the architecture.
  • 2. The rules of navigation never navigated a ship. The rules of architecture never built a house.
  • 3. I would have liked maybe to be in architecture or painting something connected to the fine arts.
