I have a lot of responsibilities outside myself. I have a large family. I want to know I can always be helpful.

My family makes these vinegars – out of everything from grapes to peaches and cherries. We go through the whole process with the giant vat and drainer label them and give them as Christmas presents.

1 Age

  • 1. Age puzzles me. I thought it was a quiet time. My seventies were interesting and fairly serene but my eighties are passionate. I grow more intense as I age.

2 Amazing

  • 3. I always knew that St. Jude was an amazing organization but meeting the kids and seeing how the hospital works first hand was truly beautiful. It doesn't feel like a regular hospital all dreary and sad. It's a colorful beautiful comfortable fun place to live and the energy is wonderful.

3 Anger

4 Anniversary

5 Architecture

  • 1. Art is very tricky because it's what you do for yourself. It's much harder for me to make those works than the monuments or the architecture.
  • 2. Spiritual space is lost in gaining convenience. I saw the need to create a mixture of Japanese spiritual culture and modern western architecture.
  • 3. As a designer the mission with which we have been charged is simple: providing space at the right cost.
