4 Anniversary

  • 1. I was always very grateful to 'em and am grateful to 'em now. I went back a couple of years ago and did their 20th anniversary show. But the longer I stayed on Hee Haw the worse things got for me musically.
  • 2. The concept of two people living together for 25 years without a serious dispute suggests a lack of spirit only to be admired in sheep.
  • 3. The London games mark the 24th anniversary of my winning two golds and setting the world record in the heptathlon. Someone is going to want it records are made to be broken – it's only a matter of time. I hope mine will outlive me.

5 Architecture

  • 1. It seems a fantastic paradox but it is nevertheless a most important truth that no architecture can be truly noble which is not imperfect.
  • 2. There is a lot of interest in the arts music theatre filmmaking engineering architecture and software design. I think we have now transitioned the modern-day version of the entrepreneur into the creative economy.
  • 3. I've always liked traveling around Europe and seeing the architecture. The buildings in capital cities have been there for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years. Some look better than the new ones.
