1 Age

  • 1. There are no college courses to build up self-esteem or high school or elementary school. If you don't get those values at a early age nurtured in your home you don't get them.
  • 2. As technology advances it reverses the characteristics of every situation again and again. The age of automation is going to be the age of 'do it yourself.'
  • 3. Does age matter? Time doesn't matter.

2 Amazing

  • 1. To win one Moonman is amazing to win two is incredible.
  • 2. The right really dominates radio and it's amazing how much energy the right spends telling us that the press is slanted to the left when it really isn't. They want to shut other people up. They really don't understand the First Amendment.
  • 3. So for my studio purposes I know that I'm in my studio with technicians who've done amazing things to my board and to my power amps and I know what I can deliver out of my studio.

3 Anger

  • 1. Never do anything when you are in a temper for you will do everything wrong.
  • 2. Expressing anger is a form of public littering.
  • 3. But on second thought after I decreed the state of emergency I came to the conclusion that that was impossible to achieve without bloodshed because the street protesters were full of anger and nearly out of control. This is why I thought we needed to find another way out.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. This year as we celebrate the 230th anniversary of America's independence please remember the symbols that are sacred to this country. Fly Old Glory high and show your respect and admiration for this great nation and the values we hold dear.
  • 2. I was always very grateful to 'em and am grateful to 'em now. I went back a couple of years ago and did their 20th anniversary show. But the longer I stayed on Hee Haw the worse things got for me musically.
  • 3. I didn't make my first solo record until 1981 so I don't have any 60's or 70's recordings but I am working on a large boxed set called DUST to be released next year the 20th anniversary of my first solo record.

5 Architecture

  • 1. Nothing requires the architect's care more than the due proportions of buildings.
  • 2. Form follows function.
  • 3. Great buildings that move the spirit have always been rare. In every case they are unique poetic products of the heart.
