1 Age

  • 1. We were making the first step out of the age of chemistry and physics and into the age of biology.

2 Amazing

  • 1. I mean why am I considered an 'it girl?' Because I'm in a lot of movies right now or am on the covers of magazines? I just hope there is something solid behind that. Because here's the thing with 'it girl' status. It's great and amazing that anybody is saying that at all. But how long does that last?

3 Anger

  • 1. Never go to bed mad. Stay up and fight.
  • 2. It absolutely helped – to write the father in both 'Juicy' and 'Beasts ' I had to see the whole story from his point of view. All of a sudden I understood more of what my own father must be going through – the fear the frustration the anger… the hope that he'll leave a legacy.
  • 3. That feeds anger and I mean when we went and at last thank heavens got towards peace in Northern Ireland we went for justice within Northern Ireland as well as using security well as well as a political settlement but surely that is the lesson.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. That there's no more important decision in life than who you marry.
  • 2. One should believe in marriage as in the immortality of the soul.
  • 3. Mom and Dad were married 64 years. And if you wondered what their secret was you could have asked the local florist – because every day Dad gave Mom a rose which he put on her bedside table. That's how she found out what happened on the day my father died – she went looking for him because that morning there was no rose.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I have no requirements for a style of architecture.
  • 2. But those musics do not address the larger kind of architecture in time that classical music does whatever each one of us knows that classical music must mean.
  • 3. I have designed the most buildings of any living American architect.
