3 Anger

4 Anniversary

  • 3. See the 'On the Road' that came out in 1957 was censored. A lot of the honesty of it the bitter honesty is in the original scroll version that came out in 2007 on the 50-year anniversary. Back then there was so much post-Second World War fear that was imposed on everybody – 'You must live life this way' – and these guys were bored.

5 Architecture

  • 1. My house is my refuge an emotional piece of architecture not a cold piece of convenience.
  • 2. No architect troubled to design houses that suited people who were to live in them because that would have meant building a whole range of different houses. It was far cheaper and above all timesaving to make them identical.
  • 3. The ancient Romans built their greatest masterpieces of architecture their amphitheaters for wild beasts to fight in.
