2 Amazing

  • 1. The amazing thing is that I'm sane. I'm not bitter. I'm not drugged out. I'm not broke. I'm still married to the same guy. My children don't hate me.

3 Anger

  • 1. Being told about the effects of climate change is an appeal to our reason and to our desire to bring about change. But to see that Africans are the hardest hit by climate change even though they generate almost no greenhouse gas is a glaring injustice which also triggers anger and outrage over those who seek to ignore it.
  • 2. It's a very difficult thing for people to accept seeing women act out anger on the screen. We're more accustomed to seeing men expressing rage and women crying.
  • 3. There's a lot of bitterness there's a lot of anger out there. We all have to work hard to heal those wounds.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. Mom and Dad were married 64 years. And if you wondered what their secret was you could have asked the local florist – because every day Dad gave Mom a rose which he put on her bedside table. That's how she found out what happened on the day my father died – she went looking for him because that morning there was no rose.
  • 2. Perhaps a hundred people assembled one evening May 15 1876 at the time when the country was celebrating the hundredth anniversary of its political independence.
  • 3. I've been sober for two-and-a-half years My children are happy. In August my wife and I will celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary. My band is back together with a sold-out tour.

5 Architecture

  • 1. I take a lot from everywhere. I take from music architecture novels and plays. Anywhere that hits you.
