1 Age

  • 1. When it comes down to it it's about who you know and who's a fan. It's about whether you're the right age whether you're hot or not whether the studio is into you or not.
  • 2. My inspiration was my mom. She's a great cook and she still cooks and we still banter back and forth about cooking. Growing up in a mostly Portuguese community food was important and the family table was extremely important. At a very young age I understood that.
  • 3. My habit would have been to veer towards the dark – to prove I was something edgy or maybe to prove that I was cognisant of the dark side. Now with age and confidence I can say yeah that's true but I am cognisant of the fact that people can do things well. And can be more loving than you expect.

2 Amazing

  • 1. The '60s were an amazing time.
  • 2. I'll tell you Quentin Tarantino really writes the most amazing dialogue.
  • 3. The best player I've ever played with was Paul Gascoigne. He had everything. He was amazing.

3 Anger

  • 1. Man should forget his anger before he lies down to sleep.
  • 2. But one of the hardest things for me to do was to access anger. I could do it on stage. But when I did it on film it was hard for me. That probably has to do with the intimacy of film. And my own personal issues with expressing anger. So I had to learn how to do that.
  • 3. Acting in anger and hatred throughout my life I frequently precipitated what I feared most the loss of friendships and the need to rely upon the very people I'd abused.

4 Anniversary

  • 1. A lot of good love can happen in ten years.
  • 2. And this year is going to be the 25th anniversary of the 17-0 team the only undefeated season.
  • 3. Next month I will celebrate my 30th anniversary of marriage with my beautiful bride Vicki. Our marriage has been a blessing. I have gained even more respect for the institution over the past 3 decades and will defend it against attack.

5 Architecture

  • 1. The intellectual architecture means focusing on doing great work instead of focusing on agency politics.
  • 2. A man of eighty has outlived probably three new schools of painting two of architecture and poetry and a hundred in dress.
  • 3. I went to school for engineering I studied jazz. So I always had this kind of creative side and technical side and I thought architecture might be the way to combine them so I went to architecture school in New York.
